I so love Elisa Nalin's style, she's a shoe designer and the sweetheart of street style photographers. This look in particular isn't my best match, couldn't find the perfect shade of green, went for mint this time, the right prints for the cardi and the shirt, not to mention and astrakhan coat, hers is probably vintage or custom made. Still, it somehow resembles the original, or at least, in my head.

If you visited Daily Dream Decor lately you may have noticed that I developed an obsession with the South, I actually wrote that on there too, you know, just in case, I told you my dirty little secret, joking, joking.

To continue with my South fixation, on today’s interior post I want to share this beautiful 1897 restored cottage, say hello to the French and eclectic Queen Ann cottage. American cottage with a British name, decorated in a New Orleans/ French style full with French furniture, how awesome is that? After Hurricane Katrina, designer Karyl Pierce Paxton renovated the cottage completely and states that French furniture really lasts. Now if you can’t go for the real deal you can have French furniture made to order, who wouldn’t love a striped little royal sofa like that one in the living room.

There are three types of French furniture, provincial furniture, you can spot this one by cabriole legs and simple scalloped carving, most of the time dining chairs have a wheat carving and is perfect for obataining a shabby chic interior because of its accumulation of polish, grime & stains. Parisian furniture on the other hand, embodies mainstream design of interior design in Europe and last but not least my favourite type from the series, French royal furniture, intricate carvings, gorgeous tapestry, incorporated veneers of tortoiseshell and ivory, what not to love? How to: delicate chain ring

Today was ring day, so if nail rings aren't your cup of tea, check out this awesome & super easy diy on by A pair & a spare.
All you need is:
- Beading or long nosed pliers
- Around half a metre of delicate gold chain
- Small gold jump rings (relative to the size of your chain).

How to:
1. Take the chain and wrap it around your finger to measure how much chain you will need for the ring.
2. Cut the chain to the size required for the ring.
3. Open your jump ring.
4. Put one end of the chain onto the open jump ring.
5. Put the other end of the chain onto the jump ring.
6. Close the jump ring.

What do you think about nail rings? They are around for sometime, I first saw them on Nicole Richie, don't know if you remember her BlackBook magazine spread, where she donned a nail ring on every nail and to be sincere, I didn't like them at first, they look kinda bizarre for me but after a little browsing I found really beautiful pieces made by Anna Sara Davik. Also, there are the Bijules nail rings rocked by Emily@Cupcakes and Cashmere and I'm most certain they are the ones from the spread mentioned above.

I do prefer the short versions of the ring, don't want to look all witch like, and this time, silver wins over gold.

Let me tell you what I've learned last week, don't take pictures under anesthesia, you'll ruin most of them. Well, if you are a fan of asymmetric faces the anesthesia isn't a problem.

I kinda messed up the sizing with this top and it's a bit loose, if it was a little bit longer I would have worn it as a dress, at least it's very cozy.

Don't ask about the title, it was the first thing that went through my mind when I was browsing the photos...

I have this habit of taking photos in the mirror, well not all the time, it doesn't helps at all that I have a big mirror in the hallway just waiting for me to take out my phone and snap a couple of pics.

This is what I wore yesterday to college, I had to present a project and I didn't want to go all business like usual. I did that last week , didn't feel quite comfortable and ended up hating the outfit overall, even though I love every piece, a pretty structured Cos blazer, my ohh so worn Ysl shirt and Corso Como boots, together weren't a perfect match. An outfit can ruin your mood instantly...

Anyways, the presentation was a blast:)

The year in review with the good, the bad & the ugly

Now, it seems that everybody's year was great, at least from what I've read on some blogs lately, I'm gonna be honest, my 2011 was great only blog wise, personal wise it wasn't that brilliant but will get to that too, we can't have it all, can we?

My 2011 started with a lovely Girlfriend Australia feature, I was so happy with that one, then in February I started DailyDreamDecor, it's been a bumpy road with DDD because after a blogging rush of a couple of months I neglected it, the goal was to post daily and I started to post weekly but now it's back on track and it will remain the same. I'm really proud of DailyDreamDecor, it's in top 20 Interior Design blogs on bloglovin' and recently featured on Desire to inspire, one my fav design blogs, and another feature is on the way, which I'm super excited about.

Then, there was the awesome Atelier Perwoll collaboration where I got to meet so many inspiring people and see young talents showcase their work. It wasn't the only judging I did this year, I.D. Sarrieri's Most Wanted competition, gotta love the '60s, was another project close to my heart because I do love their lingerie pieces and it included a little styling too, not to mention that the lovely Sandra won it.

First time I dressed a mannequin in 2011, first time ever for that matter, was at Sun Plaza, again '60s style, just my luck, I had a great time and learned a couple of tips which came in handy for the I.D. Sarrieri project.

Third and last time I played, this year, with '60s fashion was for New Look, having a whole store for yourself, what not love? Similar to New Look collab was the Dimensione Danza one, pity it left me with a sour taste in the end, still, is was fun too! I was a pseudo model too and posed in a Snobbish Breakfast dress..

The highlight of the year for me was the Milan trip, I had the chance to visit a great city and witness a bit of the buying process of shoes with all it's and glam and bitter faces, had loads of fun with the Pixie Shoes girls all the year for that matter.

Now the not so brilliant part, in February or March, can't remember exactly, after a routine check I found out that I have double impacted canines and still have my milk teeth, my reaction, a couple of x-rays latter my first orthodontist started to talk about screws, metal and lots of pain. Well long story short, changed the orthodontist because she scared the s***t out of me, found a really lovely one, did a couple surgeries, installed some arches and next week I'm gonna get braces. It wasn't hard at all, I was insecure at first about the whole teeth less/brace situation, but after the first surgery it was actually funny and I'm gonna have a beautiful smile when all this is over, people are fixated on looks more than they should be.

Found out people can change how the wind blows and that once again I'm a poor judge of character, lost friendships, met amazing persons and gained new friendships. Found out that I can't do something that I don't love, you know, I used to love studying, then I went to college and most importantly, I learned to be grateful for what I have.
So, hope you read it all , I wrote in a hurry and I think I covered it all. Have an amazing time this evening and see you tomorrow with the year in outfits...

For today, because it is Christmas Eve after all, a bit of tree inspiration is in order. We didn’t set up a Christmas tree this year, because of different reasons, but I did decorate the house, well I have a semi tree too, it’s so funny.

A friend of mine came over today to exchange gifts, drink hot chocolate and taste butter biscuits, my favorite this season, and I was telling her about my amazing two foot tall gold decorated Christmas tree and she actually believed me, her reaction when she saw my actual tree was priceless. My favorite trees and rooms are the red & white one with more traditional sofas, but I can’t say I don’t love the other ones either. I’m sucker for Christmas, what can I say.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope that you’ve been nice this year and Santa will bring you lot of goodies!!

Interiors: office with a view

The sweet mornings of first day of holidays, breaks and on, I am telling you they are magical! You do not have to worry about school, work & co, for a while at least. If I would not have to clean my wardrobe and my office area, it would have been perfect.

I have space problem, actually a lack of space problem. Recently, ok almost recently, I changed my desk and added a sort of cupboard, don’t know the exact English word for it, near so that I would have more storage room. Well, at first I was like ohh look at how much space I have, now, I do not know where to shove more things, now I’m constant lookout for an office furniture supply. I don’t even want to start throwing things, guess who’s gonna become a pack rat?

The reason I’m rambling about offices and space is that last night, when I was looking for pretty interiors to post on DailyDreamDecor, I came across this gorgeous apartment at the Edge, in Williamsburg decorated in a new-vintage style by the Hollister and Porter Hovey sisters, in the Home & Garden section in on nytimes.com. They do find some of the best interiors.

What is so special about it? Besides the gorgeous view, the amazing design, the mix of high-low pieces, the fact that has two office space areas , one in the living room and one in the bedroom.

I visit a no 19 Bibescu Vodă street apartment almost every week, but my visit this week was a bit different because Isabella launched her newest line, La Chatterie Gold Label, which is, let's say, a younger sister of LaChatterie's.

The above looks are a couple of my favorites from the line's first collection, „Blue Angels, Red Lights", love the asymmetric transparent blouses with the cute collar details, plus the leather & and the studs on the pieces are just gorgeous! See the entire collection here & watch the video here.

Well, not quite a review, beauty blogs do it better! A couple of weeks ago, I received some hair goodies from Newtone, shampoo, conditioner and a lotion, I have fine greasy hair so which needs to be washed almost everyday. What can I say, the shampoo really does what it says, strengthens and protects that is, because I didn't use it long enough for the regenerating part. It's perfect is you're using a straightener or a rotating brush!

Would I buy it again? For sure!

I discovered Derin a couple of days ago on facebook, gotta love facebook, browsed the site a bit and couldn't believe this is a ro clothing brand. I love their pieces, the deconstruction in some, the simple, clean lines of others, all with a touch of rock, you should definitively go check them out, plus they are affordable too, I don't think there's something that tops 70 euros.

Now, you know I'm not a fan of the current Versace x H&M collection but this spring pieces do look promising. It kinda reminds of oilcloth, hope they won't use the same fabric...

Ohh well, I like the prints, oilcloth no oilcloth, and maybe this time I will get something. But wait, the collection will be available starting January only in countries with online stores, so yes, no Versace x H&M for me. There's always ebay...

Though, I will camp outside the store for the Marni x H&M line!

To be sincere I had another post ready for this evening but two posts about the same brand in one day is a little too much, so instead, I want to share an awesome shop perfect for young brides to be & more, David’s Bridal.

Ohh, I remember when I was a bridesmaid back in February, we where 5 bridesmaids but we didn’t have matching dresses, it had to be purple but I think I was the only one who wore purple on my dress, I think I told you this before. Last week I had the pleasure to attend a bloggers night out at Oksana Artline, a beauty shop in Bucharest which specializes in Russian braiding techniques, they do over 200, to have my hair braided and do my nails. O.P.I's from A to Zurich shade is just fab.

The place is great, to bad there was a no camera policy that evening 'cause I would have taken a couple of interior design pictures and of the inspirational quotes written in gold on the walls. Go check it out to see for yourself and for a pretty braided hairdo!

Lately, there was a lot of bohemian vibe going on the blog, first with the ‘60s inspired contest then with the Rachel Zoe/ fime project post. Now, I can’t state that boho chic is exactly my style though I do love to mix things up sometimes and I have a couple of boho items or let’s say that can be worked out in boho chic hippie outfits. Like this one below.

Bohemian and hippie style are almost on the same line, boho chic is between with a couple of modern touches. You know Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe are just a couple of this style’s fans. Who can forget the infamous, here at least, Kate Moss and the gypsies V Magazine editorial? Fun fact, did you know bohémien means gypsy?

Do you have a fashion icon? I don't! Really, I do love the style of several persons but I do not have a fashion icon.
When the guys over at DivaHair ask me to take part in a competition which involves creating an outfit inspired by my fashion icon and a voting session, I had to pick Rachel Zoe... Why? It was Rachel Zoe or Lady Gaga and it's too cold outside to take photos in an outfit inspired by mother monster. Even though I'm not a big fan of these type of competitions, sometimes we have to get out of our comfort zone, don't we? Needless to say that if you are looking for attention, a floppy hat is what you need to wear!
