visiting Corina Vladescu's showroom

2/23/10

Yesterday went with Mina and Alice to Corina Vladescu's showroom.Corina is a ro fashion designer,I find many of her designs dreamy and she's is always pushing the bounderies,in a good way.And she just got featured in WAD magazine.
We browsed her new collection,Map of life, and previous ones.See the entire Map of life collection here.I like it but it gives me chills, because of the whimsical prints, radiography like.
Mina ordered a beautiful Roisin dress, the blue version, and bought a white wool coat, she'll blog about soon.I tried on this structural jacket and an orange faux fur vest, but no picture with that. one.I always go back to black, although vibrant colors are appealing, there are not for me.

Orla Kiely

2/21/10

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
London fashion weekd started 2 days ago and I didn't managed to see any live streaming show, shame on me.
Today I saw a whimsical movie, set in the '50,beautifully filmed,it had amazing costumes(irom my point of view).Wondering why I told about the film?Just because, Orla Kiely's collection reminds me of it,minus the shoes, which I like of course. The thing is, I always liked retro items lucky with my aunt who shares some of her weardrobe,ok,mostly accessories.

What do you think?Do you like it?

live streaming shows

2/19/10

I saw all of the live streamings of all of these shows,my favourites were Rodarte and Isaac Mizrahi. It’s great to see them live because you have the feeling you're there. The tweets were even better, commented the collections with Carola ,Anna,Daiana and Adina.

Rodarte
I read on dazeddigital.com that the Mulleavy sisters went for a 'dressing in the dark' concept. At first I had the impression that it’s a spring collection, floral&girly, the ending dress(bridal) remind me a bit of „iele”.Loved the layering, the textures, the knits&patchworks. One of the best collections this season.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

3.1Phillip Lim
Waiting for the Proenza Schouler show,we ended up to see Phillip Lim,where a pesky women's voice was all over the streaming.
I have a mixed opinion about it,collarless coats, lots of silk and animal prints.I wasn’t feeling it,you know.It was like reading ’90 romance novels, maybe because of the tights. But the Christian Louboutin shoes were marvaleous.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Isaac Mizrahi
A beautiful and diverse collection, full of colors. From green to bright melon and my fav, all black outfits.I’m on the dark side. The designer stated"I've been thinking about camping. It's a theme I always return to—anoraks, parkas, Eskimos, plaid, quilting."I want to go on this camp.A fresh approach for fall/winter 2010,and liked it.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Calvin Klein
Minimalist,but too minamalist for me.The thing is,I wouldn’t buy them and not because I dislike them.It’s just because,in my opinion, they don’t justify their price.Clean cuts,structural blazers,weareble but nothing special and for a $500+ a dress,it doesn’t worth it.

Cluj Fashion Week

A new fashion week around here,Cluj Fashion Week first edition will be held in April.During 4 days,14-17,designers not only from Ro but from across Europe and a part of Asia, will showcase their fall winter 2010 collections.
CFW isn't only a fashion week but it's also a cultural event,Cluj Fashion Week wants to promote in Ro a novel concept in wich fashion, theatre,,sculpture, music and film gain a new form of expression in an organized space.
I think it will be a succesfull event, usually I don't "cover" ro fashion weeks but this time it will be different.

I added a clutch,a ring and a couple of cosmetics.

New York fashion week Alexander Wang fall 2010 ready-to-wear

2/14/10

Let's praise live streaming!
Last night, without much needed coffee, I resisted until 1 pm to see the live Alexander Wang show, and yeah my expectation were high, maybe that's why I was disappointed. At least I wasn't alone,I exchanged fun tweets with Dada@AloModa and Carola.
What do I think about the actual collection?Too much velvet for my taste.Alexander Wang,as he stated in the pre-show interview, really pushed the boundaries, deconstructed business suits, cropped vests&blazer and that damn velvet.
And what happened to the models hair? The braids from spring/summer were so cool&chic, now the models looked like they didn't take a bath for a while. No more live streaming for me,I'm becoming bitchy, but I can't miss Rodarte on Tuesday(insert evil laugh here).

Have you seen the show? What do you think?
*these are the looks I liked:)

see the rest here

and I really loved the pre-fall collection.

New York fashion week ,fall 2010 ready-to-wear favs

2/13/10

I browsed the shows and these are my favourite looks until now.

Jason Wu
Is known for dressing Michelle Obama but his new collection is about more than that. The collection has a masculine touch with fold over trousers and boxy mohair sweater but the short-sleeve jackets and the oversized Cashmere coats are my favorites. Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Preen
Exposed? Lingerie worn as outwear, not in a vulgar way.Sleek & Sexy.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Rag & Bone
Love the gray & blue shades and the incredible layering going there. Also, the belts has genius, with perfectly pouches for iphones, I NEED ONE!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

BCBG Max Azria

Max and Ludov Azria created chic and wearable items. The collection consists mostly in color blocked dresses with geometric silhoutes.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Erin Wasson x RVCA
Erin's style all over the designs.Soft shades of beige, layering and shorts paired with leggings. What not to like?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Ruffian
Here we find Constellations and military inspired pieces.I 'm big fan of the military trend and the space thingy is starting on me.
